Over the past seven years, Only The Poets - which first came to life when former solo singer-songwriter Longhurst combined forces with bassist Andy ‘Roo' Burge, before welcoming drummer Marcus Yates and guitarist Clem Cherry to the fold - have eschewed chasing virality in favour of putting in the graft, taking to the road and playing show after show in what’s increasingly becoming the path less trodden within the music industry. This hard-working ethos - paired with their fresh, energised take on indie-pop - is what’s paid off, with the band being invited to open shows for musical heavyweights including Lewis Capaldi, Yungblud and Bastille.
2025 has been massive for the band so far—sellout shows in London, New York, LA, and across Europe, a new label home (Capitol UK & Republic US), and a highly anticipated album on the horizon. Add to that a killer social, content, and marketing strategy—plus a UK tour in September, then US and EU dates playing to over 40,000 fans—and it’s clear: Only The Poets are taking over.
